Spectators are most welcome to follow the action as the event moves to Plettenberg Bay on the 21st September with the running of the Robberg Peninsula before a MTB ride takes the athletes to Diepwalle.
Come and join the athletes for a drink in the evening on the 22nd & 23rd September when Knysna takes centre stage with Portland Manor being the stopover on the Tuesday 22nd and Buffalo Bay plays host on Wednesday 23rd. Athletes will cross the finish line at Ebb & Flow, Wilderness on Thursday 24th at around 4pm. Just how many of the original starters will finish the entire 300 kms of running and riding is anyones guess ?
Spectator points Southern Storm
Sunday 20th:
Stormsriver Restcamp from 6am.
Finish Line in Nature’s Valley at the De Vasselot Restcamp from 11.30am for the fastest runners. Parking here is extremely limited and all supporters vehicles will need to be parked on the road outside the campsite.
There are NO spectator points en route the Otter trail itself at all.
Monday 21st:
Start 11.00am (Run) & Transition (Run/MTB) on Robberg Nature Reserve in Plettenberg Bay. (Spectators bring your Wildcard for entry into the reserve).
Tuesday 22nd:
Knysna, Portland Manor on the Rheenendal Rd from 12 midday onwards (fastest athletes expected then).
A great little pub where supporters are welcome to have dinner or just a cool beer.
Wednesday 23rd:
Start 9.00am (MTB) from Portland Manor
Transition MTB/Run and Finish in Buffalo Bay, Main Beach (fastest athletes expected at 12.00 midday for transition and finish 12.30pm)
Thursday 24th:
Beach Start 8.30am Trail Run from Buffalo Bay Wildside Backpackers
Race finish: Wilderness, Ebb & Flow (fastest athletes expected at 02.00pm)
The Otter- African Trail Run is the only time during the year where runners can legally run the full length of the OTTER in 1 day.
